November 27, 2013 -- September at the Beijing Olympic Park is going to be different as the Munich Oktoberfest is starting its first-ever tour of the capital city in its history of more than 200 years. The festival, which will run from September 6 to 21, will wow visitors with a full range of authentic traditional beers and food from Germany. It will be a great experience to drink, eat and enjoy the authentic Bavarian music and dance performances. The festival venue, which covers about 70,000 square meters, presents four large tents: the Munich Oktoberfest Tent, the HB Hofbrauhaus Tent, the Schloss Neuschwanstein Tent and the Empress Sissi Tent. All of them will have a strong original Munich flavor. The Munich Oktoberfest Tent, which covers 13,000 square meters, is the largest beer tent in both China and the world. The festival is the only Oktoberfest authorized by the Munich Oktoberfest Committee to be held outside of Germany. It��s co-hosted by Beijing��s state-owned Cultural Assets Supervision & Administration Office, Commission of Commerce, Commission of Tourism Development and Bureau of Culture. The Munich Oktoberfest, which celebrated its 179th edition last year, is the world��s largest beer festival. It is held in Munich, Germany, from late September to the first weekend of October, usually lasting for a total of 16 days.
