China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are totally able to safeguard well the peace and stability of South China Sea, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Sunday.Wang, who was attending the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Foreign Ministers Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw, made the remarks in immediate response to the so-called tense situation propagated by some countries over the South China Sea.Wang said the current situation of the South China Sea is overally steady without any problem with free navigation. Up to now, he never heard any vessel's free voyage was affected.Relations between China and ASEAN still more maintained a good trend of development, he said, disagreeing with people who speculated the South China Sea situation as so-called tense.Wang held that China and ASEAN totally have ability and also have wisdom to safeguard well the peace and stability of South China Sea.Noting that China-ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting has reached consensus this time, he stressed the continuation to overally implement the " Declaration of Code of Conduct of the Parties" and strive for reaching "South China Sea Code of Conduct" as early as possible on the basis of unanimous coordination.The two sides spoke highly of it clapping hands together.Wang insisted that China and ASEAN could discuss the related issue in calm but he could not understand why some countries out of the region stayed restless to propagate its tense situation."Is it they want to confuse the region? Countries out of the region can reasonably voice their concern , but we disagree with them for coming to the region finger-pointing," he refuted.
