The expansion made room for a new production line capable of making a wide array of PVC roofing membranes, including KEE HP PVC, which earned the business a best new product award at the 2014 International Roofing Expo’s Product Showcase. The expansion reportedly cost $2 million and will create 25 jobs, Gov. Pat Quinn and other state officials attended a grand opening of the new line, which is capable of producing membranes up to 10-feet, 10-inches wide in a single pass. “Carlisle is a manufacturer that is investing in its future, and that’s the kind of company we are proud to support in Illinois,” Quinn said in a news release. “The opening of its new production line ensures that Carlisle will continue to provide high-quality jobs and be a cornerstone for its local economy.” The Korte Co. of St. Louis oversaw the construction. CCM is part of Carlisle Cos. Inc. of Charlotte, N.C. The new line also is able to manufacture polyester- and fiberglass-reinforced PVC and fleece-backed PVC membranes. Carlisle manufacturers and supplies building products for the commercial and residential construction markets. The company’s single-ply roofing solutions include thermoplastic polyolefin and rubber materials in addition to PVC. The business also offers roof garden systems, polyisocyanurate and expanded polystyrene insulation, and duct sealants, adhesives and hardware. In addition, Carlisle services the waterproofing, framing and general construction industries.
