Doeflex Compounding Ltd. is planning a merger with Ineos Group AG to create a new compounding company in the United Kingdom. No name has yet been chosen for the merged operation.

According to Bill Trendell, managing director of Doeflex, based in Swindon, England, the intention of the proposed deal is to enable the new company to better respond to customer needs by enabling a “one-stop service from small to large orders across the full spectrum of our products and to reap the benefit of the merged skills and resources of both entities.”

Ineos Compounds is a restructured group within the Ineos Group of companies focusing on manufacture of PVC compounds from three sites located in the U.K., Switzerland and Sweden. The business supplies over 100,000 metric tons a year of specialized formulations of both rigid and flexible PVC compounds, predominantly into the construction and medical supplies sectors across Europe.

The proposed combination is subject to competition clearance from the European Commission and until completion of the proposed merger Ineos and Doeflex will continue to run their PVC compounding businesses separately.
