China donates ICT equipment to Zimbabwe parliament

The Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament on Tuesday donated information and communication technology equipment worth thousands of dollars to the Zimbabwean parliament.Handing over the equipment comprising computers, recorders and overhead projectors, Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe Lin Lin said the equipment will enhance parliament's capacity and improve government operations."China will continue to do what we can to support the economic development of Zimbabwe," Lin said.He expressed hope that Zimbabwe's economic and social recovery would be robust and sustainable.National Assembly Speaker, Jacob Mudenda said parliament had deficiencies in its ICT systems and that the donated equipment would go a long way in addressing challenges.Trade between the two countries reached 1.1 billion US dollars mark last year.
