Japan tourism doubles

The number of trips taken by Chinese tourists to Japan doubled year on year in July, reaching a total of 281,200, according to data from the Japan National Tourism Organization.The number of inbound tourists to Japan has hit a record high of 7.53 million as of July, thanks to the rising number of international flights at Haneda Airport and charter flights in Asia, according to Kyodo News. The organization is expecting the number of Chinese tourists' trips to reach 12 million this year, up from 10 million last year, despite Japanese officials' visits to the controversial Yasukuni Shrine.
