35 Years Of The Fiesta

The Fiesta is a super mini car produced by Ford, it has been in production since 1976; making it 35 years old this year! The Fiesta has a special place in the super mini category; it has become a household name. Many generations of car drivers have in one way or another been associated to a Fiesta in their lifetime. Many drivers first learnt to drive in a Fiesta, as it has been a firm favourite with driving schools for several years.

The current model of the Fiesta has been around since 2008, it is based on Ford?s global B platform. The 2008 model was the first Fiesta to go on sale as the same model globally, so UK buyers and their US counterparts could for the first time buy the same car. The global Fiesta was the first model to come out of Ford?s new ?one car? methodology.

The Ford Fiesta in Brighton continues to be a popular car in the UK, at the 2011 Auto Express New Car Awards the Fiesta was voted Britain?s Best Supermini for the third year running. In 2009, Auto Express named the Ford Fiesta Car of the Year, and Best Supermini in 2010.

Graham Hope, Acting Editor, Auto Express said: "Once again, the Fiesta has demonstrated its superiority in the supermini sector. The Ford?s head-turning looks, boldly designed cabin and sparkling chassis have all helped secure a remarkable third consecutive victory in this closely fought category."

If you are a new driver or require a small, fuel efficient, reliable and good looking car then the Ford Fiesta should definitely be at the top of your list. It?s popular on merit.
