My dad is so excited about taking part in the London to Edinburgh Top Gear Challenge, which started from the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall on 11th September 2011 and finish at Goodwood in West Sussex, home of Rolls Royce on 15th September 2011.
Waiting outside at 6am for the event to start was an experience I will never forget, the sound of all the cars revving was amazing. The best part for was watching my dad sitting in his 1911 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, smiling like a young boy in his new car.
Before the all the car set off for their long journey, Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO, Rolls Royce Motor Cars, said, "Rolls Royce has always stood for the very best engineering combined with refinement, luxury and, of course, hand craftsmanship and human endeavour. These qualities are the same today as they were 100 years ago. We are delighted to support our friends at the 20-Ghost Club in this remarkably authentic re-enactment and look forward to welcoming them to the Home of Rolls Royce at Goodwood after a successful Centenary Trial."
With my dad gone off on his little journey, I was left to take his Volkswagen Tiguan for Servicing in High Wycombe. Taking cars for its service is so boring, and so I never take mine. I was really annoyed that he booked it in while he was away, but as it?s already booked I have no choice.
So when I see him on the 17th September, as the cars will line up at Goodwood Motor Circuit Grid, I will definitely have a word with him.
