I have always had an affection for convertible cars. Somehow putting a soft top on even the most bland cars creates a more stylish and trendy image. For example, consider the normal Nissan Micra. Normally an old ladies car but in fluorescent pink and with a soft top, its good enough for Barbie! After a recent windfall I decided to buy myself a new New Mazda Yorkshire car and after careful consideration I opted for the Mazda MX-5. According to Mazda it is officially the world?s most popular convertible, sounds like an excellent selling point to me. I visited my local Mazda dealer to see what offers they had available. The sales assistant that greeted me was very helpful indeed. He informed me that there was both a soft top and hard top version available but after a long discussion I confirmed that I was only interested in the soft top. I decided on the basic soft top model, it was well equipped for the price and seemed to be the perfect option for me. I told the sales assistant that I had a car to be considered for part exchange and he went away to work out the figures. I was very happy when he returned. With my car taken as a deposit I was looking at a price of ?249.00 per month! I thought it was too good to be true as I had been paying nearly ?200 for my Fiat Punto. I quickly signed the paperwork and confirmed my order before they changed their mind or retracted the offer. I think I got a really good deal and I am just awaiting for it to be delivered now. Lets hope we have some sunshine to drive it in!
