Aston Martin Parts Are Not As Expensive As You Think!

I have recently repaired a Blue Aston Martin DB9 which was recorded as a category D insurance write off late last year. The car has light front rear damage and it looks like the damage was caused by a rear end shunt into the back of another car. The inside of the car was relatively undamaged by airbags with the exception of the drivers airbag which had been deployed. Apparently, in an Aston Martin, the driver?s airbag is very temperamental and the smallest of shunts could trigger it to deploy. The windscreen was also slightly cracked but this appears to have been done before the accident.

The exterior of the car needed a whole range of new and used car parts in order to repair the car to a state that it is ready to go back onto the road again. The first day that the car was delivered to my estate, I had already assessed what parts I required and had purchased a new front bumper, headlight, grilles and bonnet second hand for ?800 which was an absolute bargain considering it is an Aston Martin!

In order to find the parts to repair the Aston Martin, I searched online for ?aston martin parts and instantly was bombarded with a whole list of new and second hand parts for sale. Within 10 days of owning the car, I had sourced all of the parts to repair the car and it was just a matter of going to collect them which was going to be difficult seeing as I have a full time job. I managed to borrow a friends van for the weekend and 260 miles later and a tank of diesel; I had all of the parts to repair the Aston Martin DB9.

The final part of the repair was painting the replacement panels and I got them all painted for ?900, which again was a complete bargain as it is an Aston Martin, not a Ford KA!
