We had our first flurry of snow here in the South East yesterday, and it got me to thinking about how my little Vauxhall Corsa would cope in the wintery conditions, especially if it?s anything like last year. We took my car to the garage a couple of weeks ago for a winter service, a must for any car, so we shouldn?t have any trouble with the mechanics, but when it comes to driving in ice and snow, only a 4x4 will really suffice.
The Mitsubishi Shogun is a great looking 4x4. It looks wonderfully chunky so you would certainly feel safe behind the wheel. It also seats up to seven people so would also make for a great family car. The Shogun features stability control and anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution to keep you stable when braking. Front, side and curtain airbags are standard, as well as keyless entry and alarm.
The interior of the Shogun is well-built and hardwearing. If you happen to take the family off-roading, the Shogun will perform exceptionally well. It has excellent steering and suspension so it handles really well. A 3.2 litre diesel version has a huge amount of pulling power. It has great grip, but also has the option of a rear differential lock for extra muddy conditions.
There is a copious amount of room inside. Head and legroom is excellent, and the rear seats can be removed of not needed to provide extra storage space. All models in the Shogun range feature climate control, electric windows and mirrors, alloy wheels and an MP? compatible CD player. Next in line, the Warrior, has heated leather seats, sat nav and cruise control. The Elegance model also has an upgraded stereo and rear air conditioning, while the range topping Diamond has chrome 20? alloys.
