Toyota At The EcoVelocity Show In London

EcoVelocity is a festival of green motoring, this year it will take place in September at London?s Battersea Power Station. Toyota will take this opportunity to showcase Toyota and Lexus models with low emissions, including electric and full hybrid models.

The Toyota Prius and the Toyota Auris both have CO2 emissions of less than 100g/km, making them exempt from the London congestion charge. Both models will be at the show ready for test drives and to help explain how their respective technologies work. The Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), which is powered by batteries, can run further and at high speeds than a conventional hybrid on its electric motor alone resulting in zero CO2 emissions and zero fuel consumption.

The new Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle can be recharged using a standard 240v electricity supply, either at home, work or at a dedicated public charge point. Conveniently the Prius also comes with a petrol engine which will automatically cut in once battery power runs out, eliminating the concern for the driver and making it more practical.

Also at EcoVelocity will be Toyota?s Lexus CT200h full hybrid premium compact hatchback as well as the Lexus RX 450h full hybrid luxury crossover vehicle. The Lexus CT 200h, which will be available for visitors to test drive, offers CO2 emissions of less than 100g/km and can achieve 68.9mpg fuel consumption on the combined cycle.

Shows like EcoVelocity help alternative fuel cars gain exposure; they also help educate the typical car consumer on how hybrid and electric technologies work. I strongly believe that shows like this are helping consumers gain confidence in electric cars and the new Toyota in Armagh.
