British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards

Since I started helping my uncle sell used cars in Sutton, I have become very interested in cars. I?ve been buying car magazines regularly and keeping with the latest news and gossip about all cars on the internet.

The latest new that I found interesting was the one about the Toyota Prius being named as the most secure green car and the Toyota Land Cruiser V8 remaining in top position in the large 4x4 category at the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards, which took place at the Motor Insurance Repair Research centre in Berkshire.

I wasn?t surprised about the Toyota land Cruiser, as it does seat seven people and features the latest sophisticated handling, suspension and drivetrain systems, as well as ensuring safety, comfort and secure handling whether on the road or off.

The British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards is designed to raise awareness of best practice in vehicle security. Each vehicle is assessed according to the New Vehicle Security Rating Scheme (NVSR), with points awarded under the categories of 'theft of' and 'theft from' the vehicle. The winners are the models achieving the highest score in each category.

Mike Briggs, Thatcham's Vehicle Security Manager, said, "Many congratulations to Toyota who have held on tightly to the crown for the most secure Green Car for the second year running and remain the only winners of this recently introduced category. As the top performing Prius T3 proves, car owners can do their bit for the environment without the need to compromise on vehicle security."
