The Most Fuel Efficient Jag, Ever.

The Most Fuel Efficient Jag, Ever.

When you think of a Jaguar you automatically think of a large fuel guzzling engine, and to an extent this is true. V6, V8 and V12 engines have made Jaguar what it is now, supercharged and turbo charged engines are common in Jaguar models. To keep up with its competitors Jaguar has had to introduce some fuel efficient models, as fuel prices increase, car buyers are becoming more and more conscious about fuel efficiency.

In 2008, after TATA Motors took over Jaguar the new XF was released. The new XF model replaced the S Type and to some extent the X Type. The new Jaguar XF marked the beginning of a new era for Jaguar ? welcoming cutting edge design and modern technology. Until this September the Jaguar XF was available with two engines, a 5.0 litre V8 petrol and a 3.0 litre diesel V6. In September Jaguar launched a much more fuel efficient model, a 2.2 litre diesel with 188 bhp and 332lb ft of torque.

The 2.2 litre diesel can do more than 800 miles on a full tank of fuel and has CO2 emissions of less than 149 g/km. Along with the new engine, the XF has had some cosmetic changes to the bonnet, front and rear lights and bumpers and front wings.

The XF now offers executive motoring without the premium fuel bills. Comfort, style and frugality all under the Jaguar badge. Speed freaks need not fear though; the XF is available with large high performance engines still too. There is the 4.2 supercharged model with 464 bhp and the 5.0 litre supercharged in the XJR, which has 503 bhp.
